Establishing appetite for change
Using an ‘Options for Change’ approach, WorkPlace works with its clients to establish and agree ‘change boundaries’ in which to operate. From a starting point of the current situation, opportunities for change can be explored and documented. Our approach is to work with the customer to analyze the benefits and potential risks of implementing each aspect of change identified and to create an ‘Options for Change’ report. A scope and timetable for change to current working practice is agreed and WorkPlace can deliver change management support through direct or indirect contact with staff and unions. This is a process that includes staff / union communication, consultation and negotiations, culminating in changes to working practices and to the Workforce Management operational software where implemented.
"We knew we were asking a lot of our employees to accept this new way of working, but with the considerable help and support of WorkPlace Systems and a programme of continuous communication, we were able to convince the Firefighters that this new scheme would benefit them and that the service would realise improvements they needed to meet their goals."
