Retail Solutions, Birmingham - June 6th, 2006 – WorkPlace Systems, a leading supplier of integrated, web-based, Enterprise Workforce Management solutions to large Hospitality organisations, is now responding to the needs of smaller groups and individual establishments to help them reduce labour costs and improve service levels with the launch of its new hosted service ‘WorkPlace Lite’ at this year’s Retail Solutions show.

The Hospitality industry is under considerable cost pressure, and labour is the highest cost element accounting for anything from 12% to 40% of sales depending on how efficient the operation is. By allowing owners and managers of pubs, for example, to identify where there is over staffing, labour cost can be reduced by at least 5% - meaning a pub taking £400,000 per annum, can save between £2,500 to £8,000 in staff costs over the year. Conversely, managers can also identify areas of under staffing and schedule additional staff to improve service levels and potential sales.

WorkPlace Lite allows managers to create and keep staff Schedules that match known demand; it also monitors and controls actual staff hours using Time and Attendance and then ensures that staff are paid correctly using the optional Payroll functionality.

WorkPlace Lite also provides managers with key information such as sales to cost ratios and other important key performance indicators to help manage the business more efficiently.

The solution is simple and easy to use with intuitive information entry and navigation and can be installed in a couple of hours. As a result Pub, Bar or Hotel Managers are able to halve the time they spend each week on employee administration allowing them more time in front of their customers.

The solution is delivered as a Hosted Service over the Internet via a broadband connection. This allows individual establishments to take advantage of WorkPlace Lite using simply the PC hardware they currently use today. Users pay a low monthly fee based on the number of employees or FTE’s with no capital outlay.
