Ian founded WorkPlace Systems plc in 1986. He has more than 25 years experience in the computer software business. Prior to founding WorkPlace, he worked for Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys) for 10 years and was then Managing Director of Ring Electrical Limited, Banbury Homes & Gardens Limited and Digico Limited over a period of a further 7 years. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from Manchester University and an MSc in Magnetohydrodynamics from Liverpool University.

Barney has over 30 years experience in application software IT companies including in North America. For 13 years Barney was a Main Board Director of Sherwood International plc, a provider of software and services to the insurance industry. Barney set up and ran for three years the Sherwood North American operation. Latterly, Barney became Director of Worldwide Operations/Chief Operating Officer of Sherwood from 2001 to 2004.

Mike qualified as a chartered accountant and worked at Price Waterhouse for 3 years before joining Centreway Industries plc as a subsidiary Company Finance Director. During his 13 years with Centreway, he became Group Finance Director and then Group Managing Director. In 1987, he bought into a privatised Company, Carlyle plc, which operates in the bus and coach industry, holding the position of Executive Chairman for 13 years. He has been Finance Director of WorkPlace since 1993.

Ian joined WorkPlace in 1988 and has been responsible for the design of all WorkPlace software products since 1993. He holds a first-class honours degree in Computer Science and worked for two years for EDS prior to joining WorkPlace.

Nigel joined WorkPlace in 1993 and has been responsible since 1998 for the sales and marketing of WorkPlace products in the UK and Internationally. He graduated with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 and gained an MBA in 1992.

John has acted in an advisory capacity to the Group since December 1999 and was appointed a Non-Executive Director in June 2000. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross & Co in 1982 and subsequently joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, becoming a director in 1992. From 1996 to 2001 he was Managing Director of GdeZ Capital, a corporate advisory and venture capital Company. He is presently a Non-Executive Director of J D Wetherspoon plc and Kensington Group plc. He is Chairman of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees.
