WorkPlace Systems plc is a world leader in the development and supply of software products for workforce management.
WorkPlace software modules address all areas of staff planning and staff tracking together with all aspects of planning and tracking of the work done by staff including resources required. Major application modules cover: Labour Budgeting, Workload Demand Forecasting, Staff Scheduling, Roster Management, Time and Attendance, Work Planning and Tracking, Performance and Productivity, Mobile Working and Advanced Planning System for the Manufacturing sector.
With over 20 years experience, WorkPlace Systems has implemented these solutions for significant labour savings and customer service level improvements in a wide range of multiple outlet organisations covering more than 400 installations in 10,000 sites worldwide.
Based initially in the UK, WorkPlace has implemented systems worldwide with major customers in the UK, Europe, Australasia, USA and the Middle East. Customers include Argos, Focus (DIY) Ltd, Metro Cash & Carry, Rank Leisure, Morrisons, Next, Sports Café, Travelex, WH Smith Travel, Wickes/Travis Perkins, Whitbread and World Duty Free.
In addition to these application areas, the company supplies specialised software products to provide mobile, remote and fixed staff with wireless real-time data entry and enquiry facilities. With the combination of comprehensive workforce management functionality delivered via web browser and kiosk, retailers benefit from a dramatically reduced total cost of ownership.
WorkPlace products are at the forefront of technology with more than 40% of staff permanently involved in research and development. All products are web-enabled with core database technology based upon Oracle, SQL Server and DB2. Access to the system is flexible allowing real-time data entry and enquiry facilities to office-based and remote staff using traditional PCs, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), wireless PCs, cellular telephones, web devices and badge-reading terminals.
In addition to the supply of standard software, modifications and customisation are undertaken for major customers particularly where this adds enhanced features or reports to the standard products. WorkPlace Systems' staff have a particular expertise in practical Workforce Management methods including annualised hours, flexible working schemes, forecasting and optimised scheduling. These innovative Workforce Management methods are being adopted increasingly both in the UK and internationally, facilitated by WorkPlace software modules and expertise.
WorkPlace Systems currently has 115 staff and a turnover of just under £10 million.
